MITILINIS GREEK LADOTYRI CHEESE 300G Home / Deli / Cheese & Butter Picture of Mitilinis Greek Ladotyri Cheese 300g Picture of Mitilinis Greek Ladotyri Cheese 300gPicture of Mitilinis Greek Ladotyri Cheese 300g Be the first to review this product It is made on the island of Lesbos in the Northern Aegean Islands, and has been produced since ancient times. The cheese is made with ovine milk or with a mixture of ovine and caprine milk, the latter of which should not exceed 30%. The official designation for this hard table cheese notes the following production method: "The milk is coagulated with added rennet at 32-34 deg C in 30 minutes. The curd is then broken up and reheated to 45 deg C. Most of the whey is then removed and the curds are pressed in the bottom of the vat to form a compact mass. This is cut into pieces weighing between 5 and 7 kilos. The pieces are then placed on a bench and cut again to their final cheese size. They are then placed in special moulds, firmly pressed by hand, salted and taken to a ripening room where they remain for not less than 3 months. ❄️❄️ Perishables must be shipped using FedEx express shipping methods. Pastırma is a form of Turkish cured meat with exceptional flavor, a delicate texture, and a lingering taste. The predecessor to the Italian pastrami, this delicacy originated before the Byzantine times, in the East of Turkey in the town of Kayseri where it is still produced today. The story of its invention has to do with meat being pressed, bastırmak in Turkish, by the legs of horsemen as they rode with sides of meat hanging from their saddles. Today, shanks of beef are cut from domestically grown beef, and dry cured in the fresh air for a couple days. Next, the meat is covered in a paste called çemen, which is made from garlic, fenugreek seeds, and red peppers, and left to cure for another couple days. Connoisseurs will tell you that if your pastirma is cut with a machine, as opposed to a hand knife, it is inferior. Believe what you will.

Beyaz Peynir is the most popular cheese in Turkey. Beyaz Peynir, which translates to “white cheese” in English, is a brined and aged cheese made from cow’s milk with a taste that reminiscent Feta. A pantry staple in most Turkish households, this delicious tangy cheese is normally enjoyed from morning through evening, starting at breakfast, in savory and sweet phyllo-wrapped pastries and always on Meze platters. SütdiyarI Piknik White Cheese is made with pure (cow, sheep and/or goat’s milk?) and brined and aged to perfection. With a delicate, crumbly texture and milky, slightly salty flavor, our Piknik White Cheese is a wonderful way to add Mediterranean flare to salads, omelets, roasted veggies and pastas. Enjoy warm on flatbread with fresh tomatoes, oregano and olive oil. Or try it with fig jam, walnuts and a drizzle of honey. In Turkey, Beyaz Peynir is a classic component of Menemen, a lightly scrambled egg dish made with tomatoes, green peppers, chilies, white cheese and olive oil. It is also used in “pide,” (stuffed flatbread) and “gözleme” (the Turkish version of a quesadilla). Once you try SütdiyarI Piknik White Cheese, the culinary possibilities for this delicious cheese will inspire you. Because brined white cheese is low in fat and a rich source of probiotics, calcium and protein, you can feel great about incorporating it into your diet.❄PERISHABLE ITEM❄❄ Perishable items must be shipped using FedEx Express shipping only. There is a rich cheesemaking history in Turkey, dating back many millennia. And one of the most popular cheeses is Beyaz Peynir or “White Cheese”, the Turkish version of Feta. An inextricable part of Turkish culture and cuisine, Feta consumption usually starts at breakfast. At Tahsildaroglu, we make this special cheese with the milk of herds grazing freely in the Ezine region of the Taz Mountains. Our Goat’s Milk Feta is made with a unique blend of mostly goat's milk with some sheep's milk. We pack the cheese curds in a salt and yeast brine and age the mix for at least 12 months - resulting in a cheese with a crumbly texture and a tangy, slightly salty flavor. Rich in probiotics, calcium and protein, and low in fat, Tahsildaroglu Goat’s Milk Feta is a cheese you can feel great about eating at any time of the day. Use our cheese and a dash of oregano to add bright Mediterranean flavor to your favorite salads, omelets, flatbreads and spreads. The perfect addition to a meze platter, our cheese is also a natural for yufka-filled pastries. ❄PERISHABLE ITEM❄❄ Perishable items must be shipped using FedEx Express shipping only.
